Since the Edgewood Championship has moved to August, we have a 4 week gap in the schedule. What type of event would you like to see in May that could help fill that gap?
A 2 day tournament at Piper Glen?
Moving the Links Amateur up a few weeks?
A 2 weekend tournament similar the City where the top 40 play Panther Creek or Illini?
A 2 weekend Match play?
Adding a new tournament with a new local course?

the idea of a match playe championship would be awesome. Make it like a two weekend event with the championship being 36 holes.
ReplyDeleteEven two weekends it would be tough to get all the matches in. If you had qualifying Saturday, and take the top 32, you could have your first round match Sunday. Then the next weekend you could do round two and quarter finals on Saturday, then semi's and finals on Sunday. It would be tough to make the final 36 holes if the semi's had to be played that morning.
ReplyDeleteI agree It would be a lot of fun. Have a big chart with everyones names like a bracket.
I like the idea of match play. That would be a lot of golf though in a short amount of time, but I think people may enjoy it.
